After a very long wait Brannan and I were finally able to deliver Ian and Candice their cast books while on set filming for season 2 of The Vampire Diaries! Thankfully we were lucky enough to have the cast finally filming on the square in Covington. Its our favorite place to watch filming since its an open set. There wasn’t to many people there watching like I thought might happen although there was a great group of people. Several of the people I have taken on Tours showed up and that made it even more fun. I enjoy sharing the experience with fans that wouldn’t have gotten the chance other wise. The family from Wales that I toured a week ago had actually came back through Covington as well to have some ice cream at Scoops the sweet shop the cast frequents. I have to admit that there is no way for me to remember and post everything that happened on this day. This by far was one of my favorite times hanging with the cast and watching them shoot their scenes. I hope you enjoy hearing me tell the stories as best I can the day after.

SPOILERS START HERE….Please don’t read if you want to be surprised by certain things in the show!

First off we went by Elena’s house to see what was being filmed. Upon turning down her street the first person we see is Candice…aka Caroline! So guess what guys shes alive! I debated on whether I should jump out of the car and run her the cast book but decided to wait and hope we got the chance later on. Brannan and I parked the car and walked down to Elena’s house in the blistering heat! Believe me when I tell you it is way to hot outside to work 16 hour days. As we all know this cast is awesome though and they set out to bring us an epic TV show so they will work in any weather. While filming at Elena’s house we saw Ian, Nina, Paul, Matt Davis and Candice. After they all loaded in the van to move locations Paul waved to us and then the van drove away. I took a good bit of pictures and I hope you will enjoy them. (Remember to click on the thumbnails for the picture to get larger.)

The next filming location was the Covington Square or as you know it Mystic Falls. We watched for a while and then Ian came closer and said that he would be right over.Ian ended up sitting on the grass about 10 feet from us while he texted away on his phone for awhile. I am unsure if he was texting or tweeting but we were happy to watch. After he finished he stood up looked over and spotted Brannan. Ian came straight to her and gave her a hug and a kiss, of course Brannan kissed him right back. Than Ian came over and did the same with me and I was able to give him his cast book. He seemed so excited to finally get it especially since I had loads of goodies for him as well. A friend of ours that I had taken on a tour from Virginia named Sandi had bought Ian a great looking leather journal, I was able to give him that as well as the Vampire Fans Support Gulf Aid bracelets. Ian was so cool he put the bracelet right on and said that he was gonna pimp out the rest of them that I gave him for the cast. Ian said he was so happy about what Chloe and Amber had started with Vampire Support. He also stated that he wanted to help in some way but that he had been so busy, I told him that was completely understandable and that we were going to auction off a Vampire Support shirt and would he mind signing it for us. Of course he had no problem signing it. I wish I would have had more for him to sign for the auction but you never know how much time the cast will have when you talk to them. So make sure you keep checking with Vampire Support and bid on the shirt its for a good cause!

I also would like to add in that after meeting with Ian he went to lunch and took his cast book with him. So while Ian at lunch that day he was reading all your letters and drawings for him. How awesome is that? A little while after he had left for lunch one of the other ladies that were watching filming asked Brannan and I if we had looked at twitter and suggested that we check it. Brannan pulled out her phone and when I say she was happy that would be and understatement. Brannan said her lifes mission was complete because Ian had tweeted about her. Ian may have spelled her name wrong but that didn’t bother her at all. I am just so glad to know that Ian appreciated his gifts and that he liked them. It was wonderful to know that we were his best fan encounter! Who would have thought 2 girls from a small town could accomplish so much?

After several hours in the heat while watching the cast film. We were lucky enough to see several scenes that day with Nina and Candice as well as Ian. Candice walked up and asked how mine and Brannan’s summer had been. We talked for a few minutes and were lucky enough to present her with the cast book we had made for her. Candice was so sweet and seemed to really enjoy it. When I asked her if she minded taking a picture with the scrapbook she was so cute and said “not by myself” so Brannan and I took pictures with her and the books. Candice also took time to sign the shirt as well for the NWF. Several other fans got the pleasure of taking pictures with Candice to which made it even more special.

As the lights went down Nina went to her trailer as Elena and emerged as Katherine. I can tell you that it is an awesome transformation to watch. Nina is phenomenal at playing both characters. It is amazing that one person can play two people so differently and with so much substance. Katherine was shooting a scene outside of the Mystic Grill with who else other than Damon. I cannot wait to watch season 2! Brannan and I finally left the set around 12:30 am since it was a school night…but don’t worry we went right back on Friday to watch them film flashbacks scenes so keep checking back more and more to come here at Vampire Stalkers.
